Paphiopedilum godefroyae f. leucochilum is a charming orchid species endemic to peninsular Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia where it lives on limestone cliffs. Though small, it produces impressive white flowers that appear almost glowing against the background!
Sometimes this natural form is described as a separate species, P. leucochilum. The main difference is that the flower's pouch-like apparatus is entirely white in P. leucochilum / P. godefroyae f. leucochilum whereas P. godefroyae flowers are entirely covered in burgundy dots. Whatever your preference is, there is no denying the appeal of this elegant little orchid.
I used a live specimen from my own collection as a model. Now the plant can live forever as an art piece. 🌱
