Maranta leuconeura, also known as "prayer plant" is a popular houseplant with gorgeous leaf venation and flashy colours. The species lives naturally in the tropical forests of Brazil.
 
The plant has a peculiar habit of moving its leaves into distinctive positions according to a diurnal rhythm. They lay flat during the day and rise upwards when the night comes, as if the plant was praying.
 
I used a live specimen from my own collection as a model. Now the plant can live forever as an art piece. 🌱
